Thankfully I was wrong and they have started to show up - very early morning (5:30 am) and late evening (7 - 7:30 pm). This makes for challenging light conditions for a 300mm Nikkor f4.0 with a 2 X extender on the D800E. Still we are having some success and hope for more and better over the summer. <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Howard+Cummer/PenderBirds/1LegJuncoW.jpg.html> http://tinyurl.com/lu2n8ok I caught this Junco standing on one leg while waiting for the hummingbirds. and here is a female approaching the far fuchsias. <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Howard+Cummer/PenderBirds/HumLftWngForW.jpg.html> http://tinyurl.com/l2b7u5k A close up cropped from about a quarter of the frame: <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Howard+Cummer/PenderBirds/HummerUpw.jpg.html> http://tinyurl.com/lk57d5p and a close up of feeding: <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Howard+Cummer/PenderBirds/HumwgForW.jpg.html> http://tinyurl.com/ljwfof2 There is more noise at ISO 6400 with the D800E compared to the D700 but the ability to crop from so many pixels is very helpful. Noise reducing suggestions in CS6 would be welcomed. C&C always welcome. Please look large too. Howard
