Subject: [Leica] Lens coding vs LR lens corrections

Practical question:  if you have an uncoded 21 Elmarit ASPH lens (example) , 
do not enter manual designation of lens type, and import images with LR 
wiith lens corrections set for that lens,
Is there a difference in final image compared to a coded lens (or manual 
entry of lens type) and letting the camera do its corrections?

The probable criteria include distortions and vignetting

Anyone seen an article on this?
