[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]At various times Leica put its brand on cameras and included camera parts made in Japan (Fuji, Panasonic, Minolta), Portugal, Canada (M4, Noctilux, Leica 72), the USA (Leica USA lenses made by Wollensak, Kodak sensors). They probably used components made in China and Asian sweat shops but didn't talk about it. I know that some of the shutter curtains for the III series were made in Czechoslovakia. Still the cameras were labeled "Made in Germany." Ted failed to mention that the Leicas made in Canada were lubricated with maple syrup. Sweetened the image, I suppose. Larry Z
