If it is price, I understand, but IMHO, it is still less than optimum
solution, IMHO Sony's native Zeiss lenses will probably be the way to
go - they are not particularly expensive, either.

I understood the problem as weight, which made no sense to me.

I would also presume that if you took a Sony/Leica based system, it
would cut your weight considerably, because you could get away with a
lighter tripod as well. By the way, the only time I was shooting
landscapes on my recent trip to Ladakh, I was shooting the D800E hand
held for the most part...(-:
