[Leica] Leaving Pender

Hi Luggers,
We have closed the cabin and headed back to Vancouver to prepare for our 
annual "visit children" voyage to Hong Kong and beyond.
We would normally take the 58 year old Queen of Nanaimo from Otter Bay, 
Pender Island, to Tsawwassen - the Mainland Ferry Port.
But, in high winds early last week, the Queen of Nanaimo was blown aground 
coming out of Sturdies Bay, Mayne Island, and is now
in dry dock being repaired. So, we had to do a "turn around" and take the 
small ferry to Swartz Bay to connect with the large ferries
that run between Vancouver Island and the mainland. We took the German built 
Coastal Celebration pictured here:

On the way to Swartz Bay from Pender Island we passed Saltspring Island 
looking like a painting in the twilight:

On the Coastal Celebration we were treated to an impromptu busking concert 
given by two very talented guitar pickers from
the Maritimes who were playing their way back across Canada. They were very 
good and sold their CDs for $10 each.

Busking is not allowed on the ferries but the music was so fine and the 
passengers enjoyed it so much that
the watchful crew wisely decided to leave the entertainers alone. It was 
nice to see such reasonable application of authority.
Doesn't happen that way very much these days in my experience.
