These sort of insurgencies matter - one such anti corruption group came out of the blue to come to power in Delhi recently - it is called the Aam Aadmi Party (Common Man's Party): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aam_Aadmi_Party As soon as AAP's impressive debut showing at the polls came to light, the ruling Congress and opposition BJP came together immediately to unanimously pass a bill for a powerful, independent Anti- Corruption Ombudsman, which they had been dragging their feet (obviously) for a couple of years...
