[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]I've lurked on this list since 1997 under various email addresses... I came to the group when I bought my first Leica and picked up no end of useful tips back then [not to mention a signed copy of This is our work.. still the only photo book I own that people not interested in photography are happy to look through...!]. I did drift away a bit in the mid 2000s as there was too much digital for someone who was 100% film. I thought the M9 looked great [and M9P greater, aesthetically] but there was no way I could afford one and thus assumed I would be film forever but then they made the Monochrom and suddenly digital made sense and I did find the money [mind it involved selling my Noctilux - that really was a good investment!!! I wish I had bought 10]. So this year I got to contribute to the yearbook for the first time and that was a real thrill. If this was the Camera User Group I wouldn't stay as I wouldn't see the relevance. I understand that for many Leica film users the 'Monochrom moment' may never happen and they will use other equipment but the link with Leica is still there and relevant. Were I to want to take colour digital I doubt I could afford a M240 so hearing how well Leica lenses work on the Sony this or the Fuji that is helpful but with no Leica link at all as Tina says there are so many generic photo groups or I imagine groups dedicated to Fuji/Sony/Olympus, etc. Sorry - I'll go back to lurking Leopold leopoldgreen at mac.com On 10 Jan 2014, at 18:11, Tina Manley <images at comporium.net> wrote: > This is the Leica Users Group and the book is made by members of the Leica > Users Group.
