I didn't see any rug weaving when I was in Aleppo, though I did see a lot of rug sellers and a couple of weavers in Turkey. How I wish I had had the flexibility then that we have now of imaging, at a marginal cost of $0.00 per frame, every interesting scene I encountered, from every interesting angle and FL. (Of course, that attitude is the antithesis of the talent of visualizing the one stellar composition and photographing it economically! For me, quantity is an often-necessary substitute for this talent. For you, not so much!) ?howard On Feb 22, 2014, at 12:51 PM, Tina Manley <images at comporium.net> wrote: > PESO: > > In Aleppo, the rug weavers work in concrete pits with the loom mounted at > floor level: > > http://www.pbase.com/tinamanley/image/154578972 > > http://www.pbase.com/tinamanley/image/154578993 > > and, keeping the business in the family, his son sells the rugs in front of > the shop > > http://www.pbase.com/tinamanley/image/154578997 > > The 24/1.4L lens was probably my favorite Canon lens, but it fell > completely apart several times and had to be returned to Canon at > inopportune times. > > C&C greatly appreciated. > > Tina > -- > Tina Manley > http:// <http://tina-manley.artistwebsites.com/>www.tinamanley.com > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
