I assumed they'd just work for that. Have you talked to Apple about the Mavericks issue? Or researched the issues on line? I only know one person who has the device. Relatively recent acquisition. So far they seem happy with it. I know a couple others with some of the other "black box" alternatives to cable and satellite subscriptions.
