The S lenses have no aperture ring, I have easily adapted to that possibly
due to still having a shutter ring and a good v/f display...

 - emasculated sensor, - DMR and M8?
- EVF, - M(240)
- AF, - S
- stereo movie recording, - M does mono
- liveview, - M(240)

All of the above are from threads on the LUG over the last ten years ;-)

- minimal ergonomics, - Most Leicas ;-)

Even the aperture ring, or lack of it?

But as I said before, I don't know

I am curious, I do not have a P&S camera with a zoom lens. The Vario X has
been shown to be very high quality and I suspect that this shares a few
traits as well as taking M lenses - will see how it copes with the wide
angles ones..... But not going to be cheap

Thanks john

it looks it's got everything Leicaphiles have repeatedly said they hate;

- emasculated sensor,
- EVF,
- AF,
- stereo movie recording,
- liveview,
- minimal ergonomics,
and perhaps more.

Who's right and who's wrong I don't know but it could be an apt replacement
piece for Digilux3 users such as I was.
And of course for the FB generation as stated in the thread, which means it
may already be old hat from what my kids tell me.

Thanks again

Now waiting for the price tag Philippe

Looks like this camera (to be launched later today) is APS-C but will be
able to take M lenses.....
