Howard,

Yes, the buffer is really nice on the D4. You may want to buy a XQD card
for it, I have a 32G XQD card, and I find the buffer (almost) never fills.
You will have to buy a XQD card reader also. I bought the Sony XQD card and
reader from B&H.

Cheers,
Gene

Hi Gene,
Thanks for looking and commenting. Agree a vertical might have been better
but as you so wisely point out who has time to adjust in the heat of battle?
I notice the difference in weight when I am just holding the D4 but when the
shooting starts it doesn't matter. The 10 fps is a big step forward over the
5 fps of the D800E.
One thing I have noticed - the eagle's wings beat at about 5 times a second
- which means with the D800 if I start a sequence with wings up then all the
frames have wings up.
With the D4 the double frame rate means that I get a sequence of shots with
wings in different positions and the buffer doesn't fill up to choke the
camera like the D800 does.
That is a HUGE difference.
Cheers
Howard

Nice shots Howard, On the last one, a vertical shot may have worked better
and captured the wingspan. I know that in the heat of rapid shooting this
is the last thought in your mind. Congrats on the used D4, you will love it
for shooting wildlife. It is a really nice body for all types of shooting
though. You will find it is a bit heavy compared to your D800.

Cheers,
Gene
