RIP as in no longer made. A darned shame. Only a chosen few could figure out the zipper. They get caught under chairs.... I've never zipped the sleeves off I truly feel that overweight people look horrible in vests. And I vote. I wear it every day all autumn into winter for many years after quite a few washings its starting to look good... A bit frayed. Mine is loose and I can wear a sweater under it. The zipper can be tricky but its got snaps as well I feel wearing it I look a bit like "Animal" the photographer in Lou Grant. But I just got my first haircut in years we'll see . I got the jacket not for its many pocket functional use but for its style. I don't put much if any photo gear of any kind in them. I put photo gear in my Domke bag. Which is black nylon. And says "Domke" on it. The other problem with Photo vests other than vesting you into a "photographer" identity which is best left neutral... Is it doesn't do that any more it just makes you look like a retired guy. As fishing and photo vests are the official gear for retired guys right now. .. Photographers don't retire. There's no point. We already have the cameras....and we know how to use them. If you have your photo gear in a gear bag when you're tired and hot you can put it next to you on the floor or on a chair and drink your tea. If you are wearing your gear in your vest pockets it can get stuck on you. you have to take your vest or jacket off which does not always work out so well. I'd get the Gitzo Photographers Fleece Jacket Model GA140. Its black. But its not a jacket. And its $350 bucks. You'd look like a million bucks. The pocket REALLY will hold photo gear which would not fall out as you are running from the cops. By the way I'd not wear a black photo vest in Times Square the police would on sight tackle me down to the sidewalk. But then again I did get that haircut. A black photo vest you appear paramilitary. You look like you are armed...its what the cops wear themselves. Not a good look for NY or much any other place. Stick to khaki. You are a fisherman not a gun nut. And you'll blend right in with all the other guys avoiding the rest home. On 7/19/14 10:16 AM, "Howard Cummer" <cummer at netvigator.com> wrote: > Hi Lew, > I use the Tilley military vest.
