Testing new equipment is for when I 'cheap-out' with other brands that have a long history of sample variation. Buy it, take it out of the box, use it. I'm willing to pay for that instead of wasting my valuable time testing stuff. A bonus is that if I sell any of it and I've kept it in good shape the buyer knows it's not a 'bad copy' and is willing to pay for that.
