A few people on the LUG are in that position. I think its a minority. Consistently we hear a lot of complaining about having to maintain software and I wonder if its because they very reluctantly use their software on a very limited basis. Its not really been incorporated into their workflo. Its way more fun to be using it and doing it and be producing images that you are in controll of. It makes having our interesting choices of photo gear way more fun. Because you know you are using the stuff like its meant to be used and fully understand what it can do for you. without the software later you really don't know. You don't have a complete workflo so you're not really doing any controlled work. So when you say "this camera isn't good enough I need a better one" you can say it with authority and not be guessing and BS'ing and just wanting a new toy.
