[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]I am sure there are cheaper places than Wegmans, but I have noticed similar prices in supermarkets in the low-income neighborhood in downtown Buffalo that we visited, and also elsewhere in the US during previous visits. My conclusion is that food is simply more expensive in the US than in Spain (note: Spain is among the cheaper Western European countries in this regard), with the possible of processed foods like breakfast cereals etc. On the plus side, the variety of stuff at a place like Wegmans is greater than what I find in my local supermarkets in Alicante. There are things we have there that are not available here and vice versa, but overall Wegmans probably beats any Alicante shop in this respect.
