As a "die hard Leica people" I can say unequivocally: 
I love Leica ground glass shooting with the R8 and R8/DMR.
I love Leica range finder shooting with the M2, M3, M6, M8, M, and MM.
I love Leica EVF shooting with the M.

That IS the point.
