The rectangular hood I had for my Contarex bullseye was was exactly 24/36 or 2/3's format. That was for a Zeiss 50mm f2 Planar lens made in 1958.. A lens thought to be a macro but not stated as such. I think Zeiss or Cosina is re making them now. The lens not the hood. The hood would cost more than a typical modern lens. The build and craftsmanship on the Zeiss Contarex system has never been equaled. This one for an 85mm http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa318/kirkwoodpix/DSCF1266.jpg On 9/21/15 3:04 PM, "Jim Nichols" <jhnichols at lighttube.net> wrote: > Square hoods are more stable in a stack. > > Vented hoods got that way from Leica owners venting about the hood > blocking the viewfinder. > > Jim Nichols > Tullahoma, TN USA > > On 9/21/2015 1:20 PM, kyle cassidy on the LUG wrote: >> Thanks to everyone on the lug for their advice, I got the 50mm Zeiss >> Planar T >> f2 to replace my Serenar 50mm 1.8.
