Anybody who has a prototype from Leica is an insider in my view, and I certainly take such a person?s reviews with a big grain of salt. The most trustworthy reviews are by people who buy the equipment like you and I would have to do and have no connection with or privileged access to the manufacturer, e.g. Consumer Reports.
