I'd like first to thank you all for your precious comments.

For what it's worth, it seems we have two schools here - Oly and Leicareflex 
go for color, and Luggers for BW

As to the crop, I had been toying on the idea of a much more drastic crop 
for the next take on the roll, and I'm thankful to john to have helped me 
off-list to get to what I think works best.
