The newer Sony, Nikon, and Canon sensors have a wider EV gamut and shoot at higher ISO's with less noise. You can get the image quality with Leica glass with adapters. Nothing is as intuitive as an M or as inconspicuous so raw image quality isn't everything; the interaction of the tool with the tool user is often more important than anything other than being in the right place and able to say Wow, click, look at that as some Canadian photographer was heard to say.
