Riffing on Jayanand's comments, my daughter's senior (high school paper was
written on "On the Road"  Interesting that a relatively fringe book from
the 50's has had such a global impact.

Land use has received such an elevated discussion in the past half
century.  In the U.S large scale solar installations require very lengthy
investigations before permitting is allowed with interesting offsets to
gain approval.  It seems that at least in the US the common sense that
Nathan espoused is of minor consideration.
