If it is only visible if strongly backlit, I don't think it's worthwhile
cleaning, which may do more harm. I have heard a couple of people have 
their aged Leitz lenses cleaned by Focal Point of Boulder,CO. and had
good results. But I don't think it is going to change the softness since
the Summarit is known to be soft.
