The Soviets were quite active at forging Leica copies which bore the Leica
name -- but I've never heard of an M copy.  This might be interesting.  Or
it might be a Chinese copy -- the Chinese Communists actually produced a
copy of the Leica M-4 called the Red Flag 20 but these are quite rare and
are true collector's gems, bringing $US 2500 to $US 7500 at auction.

Please give us some more information when you see this enigma of a camera in
person!
