Subject: Leica IIIa with flash sync terminal?

	I've just bought a Leica IIIa (#296269).  In the front, below and 
to the left of the slow-speed shutter dial, there is a PC sync terminal.  
Has Leitz ever offered such a modification?  Or is it an aftermarket job?  
It appears to be very well done, all the vulcanite are still intact.
