If my memory serves me correctly-

Early 35/f3.5 Summarons in M mount, before the goggle eyes model, were
intended for use on the M3 with an auxillary finder. These do not invoke
the proper fram lines on later Ms. This was changed with the introduction
of the M2 and later models of the lens do invoke the proper frame lines.
