It has appeal, even to me, a dedicated R3 user (or especially because 
of it), because it has a fully mechanical shutter.  The battery is only 
used for metering. If it goes bad, the camera still functions.  Much 
like the M6 (did this happen to be a coincidence in model numbering?); 
the only purpose of the battery is for the meter.

Now price, that's another subject!  Even used, I have a hard time 
justifying $1900 for one body, when even less money will buy me 4 
bodies!
