Priority: normal

When Harry Callahan was making his frame filling portraits of women
on the streets of Chicago c1950 he faced a similar, though perhaps
more predictable situation. The problem was to focus on the faces
of pedestrians moving about the street, using a 90mm lens on a
Contax.

His solution was to prefocus the lens, so that a face would be in
focus (or approximately so) when it filled the frame.

Good luck solving your particular problem.
