Most of the information was from the Hove Pocket Guide -- the tables of

Leitz lens production serial numbers are fairly consistent as they rely on
data released by the company to the public in the 1970's and 1980's.  These
tables are by year.  Leitz also issued an 'officil' chronology for each
lens, as in "produced from 1953 to 1968".  The problem is that lenses are
known to exist outside of the ranges given by the company.
