I have been monitoring this thread and find that maybe I could add something
(whether intellegent or not is up to you).

I haven't used Tmax since when I tested it several years ago, I found it
didn't hold detail as well as I wanted. These tests were done using my CL,
Rollei and ETRS. Development was done in Tmax according to the Kodak
specifications. In 8x10 test prints, I also could see not difference between
the 3. (Oh, 10x10 on he Rollei).

When I starting using TechPan, I found the detail I wanted with Technidol. I
also found in the same test a visible difference between the format sizes.
This difference is not grain size, but the quality if fine detail. In
several shoots of wood grain, the 35mm couldn't define individual grain
lines as well as the MFs could and did.

Now these were not scientific test, but designed to acquaint myself with the
available b&w emulsions then currently available since I had not shoot in
some 10 years and all of my favorites were not longer available.
