You obviously have never had multiple spams in your mail box each 
morning, some even on a 1-day repeat concept....pretty nasty if it 
comes from a non-existing domain....8-((
Though I doubt these spammers are so sophisticated to look in such 
specialist mailinglists, they rather filter usenet on email 
addresses, or worse: homepages. The latter two generate by far more 
spam than subscriber lists. I only noticed one subscriber list abuse in all 
these years (PhotoForum), and these folks even felt quite sorry after I 
explained them why this was a bad idea. 

So no need to worry about subscriber list abuse, but don't look at
spam as only annoying: they are a true pest over and over again.
