One minor note.  Nagel not only "worked there":  he owned Contessa-Nettel
until the merger was forced on him by the German government and minority
stock-holders.  He then sold his share to the Zeiss Foundation and used this
money to found Nagel AG, which he almost immediately sold to Kodak.

He died during the War to be succeeded by his son as head of Kodak AG.  The
son died last September, mourned by a lot of folks in Stuttgart and
Rochester as he was much loved.
