Subject: Verdict on the R8

Sometime ago I posted requesting input on the R8.......Mine came in and I am
very impressed. For what I do, the matrix metering is a decided advantage,
one with obvious improvements over my various R's including the R7(which I
had very briefly).
I almost passed it up based on it's massive size and Nikon F5 is big, but
seemed easier to handle...I debated long and hard in the store, that 3D,1005
pixel business had me wondering(since saw a review that said the 1005 pixel
advantage is yet to be demonstrated over conventional matrix)...This all
disappeared on the first roll....It is quite well organized and the size
effect vanishes on use and feels easier to control than my previous R's.
All in all, worth the wait, a definite improvement for me from the other R's
I have owned. Now where is that motor drive?
