Well Ben,
Do not be so modest. Your contribution is most welcome. It brings forward
a very valuable perspective on the use of Leica equipment. As I
understand it, you are telling us, that the creation of an image has an
all overriding importance and in order to achieve a certain image you can
use to full advantage some characteristics of lenses which by itself are
not sate of the art.
So now we have three types of Leica aficionados:
(1) the collectors who pride themselves in the collecting of Leica items
and occssionally take pictures with the products they have collected;
(2) the Leica techies who know that Leica builds some of the best
photographic equipment and do not rest until they have proven this
assumption (myself as an example);
(3) The Leica professionals who (must) earn a living with photography and
need equipment that is designed to withstand the demands and rigueur of
the working day and has some special characteristics which make some
kinds of deployment easier or more productive or even possible.
The Leica products deserve to be scaled along these three dimensions.
Thanks for your views.
