There has been lots of talk about incident light meters on this list
lately...
Well, I just got back 30 rolls of slide film, using this technique with m=
y
M2 and M4. Looking at my practical results, I found myself getting a bit
lazy, trusting my own judgement just a little bit too much instead of
pulling out my meter. I found about 10% of my slides being underexposed.
That is why I decided to get another M6 as soon as I got home, as I alway=
s
will get some hint in the finder what is really happening to the exposure
before I pull the trigger. The incident meter is just fine, but it has to
be used, and sometimes things will happen too fast, at least in "street
photography". When you move into the shadows, one F/stop will make a lot
of difference when using slides.
So, let=B4s not forget the advantages with the M6 meter, in spite of the
Seconic L308B-II.
