Subject: Leitz/Minolta Close Up Flash Question

Dear Fellow LUGnuts,

Now that I am about to embark on a macro project with a 100mm macro Elmar
or just maybe the 100mm Apo Macro if my grant comes through.

Minolta made a special ring light with four small flash tubes that could be
used in any combination. Has anyone used this contraption?

My last question concerns replacing a translucent plastic cone used as a
light tent to illuminate small metal or glass parts. Mine is on its last
leg. It is a tall cone that has an opening in the top. You light the
objects from the sides and shoot through the top opening. Does anyone know
here I can order one in the U.S.? Since it doesn't say Leica on the side,
it should be less than $100 - I hope.

Thanks for everyone's help. That is the power of this group. Konwledge
and the good fortune to share it with others. I thought I would have won a
100mm Apo macro by answering all those monovision contact lens questions.
Oh well...

Richard
