Rob,

2 lug bodies have both the neckstrap lugs on one end of the camera. When
hanging from the neckstrap the body is 'vertical' not 'horizontal'

3 lug has a third lug on the opposite end so the neckstrap can be
threaded such that either 'vertical' or 'horizontal' carrying is
possible.

The original 2 lug neckstrap system was not popular with many.
