Earlier this year I bought a Leica cable release.  Set me back about $20
and it still works fine.  The lock on it functions flawlessly and the Leica
engraving is a work of art <bg>.  I didn't know you could use a generic
cable release on a Leica camera.  I keep mine locked up in a safe at home
when I'm not using it.  Too valuable to just leave in a camera bag or on my
desk at the office.
