Subject: lens for IIIf

Ken and others,

Why the Elmar rather than a Summitar or Summicron? I have a IIIf red dial
which -- once you get it loaded -- is compact and fun to use. At this
point I have a Summitar and have been looking for a LTM Summicron.
However, the ones I have seen are either awful or very pricy. How does an
Elmar 50 compare? Also, which Elmar?

One of the nicest things about the IIIf is that is is almost invisible; I
suspect people either do not see it or assume it is a P&S. Either way, no
one looks twice.

Thanks for any advice.

Steve

If you really want small, rugged and light I suggest a IIf or IIIf with a
50mm f3.5 Elmar. One of these is with me nearly all the time.
