Congrats on the M3 and lens, but you haven't paid your dues if you didn't
have to buy it yourself. :-)

Kodachrome and Leicas were MADE for each other. K25 is the best for color
slides. You might also try Agfa Scala for B&W slides which simple dazzle
the eye.

I've been enamoured of Kodak Pro 100 lately for color negative, and of
course Tri-X is the long time standard for Black and White neg film.
