Gary,

The most used Leitz magazines are the ones which hold 50 slides and come
in a case of 2.
The new style, and the only kind Leica still sells, the LKM (Leica
Kindermann Magazine) has a version which holds 80 slides and one which
holds 60 and are spill proof. The P600 can use a circular tray for 120
slides as well.
When you compare your Kodak with the RT300 you should know you are not
comparing Kodak and Leica!!!!! RT300 is made by singer (same as Telex).
It may come as a surprise to you, but all those things behind the slide
matter also!!
One of the reasons for me using Pradovits is the respect Leica has for
your slides: They try to avoid overheating them; that's why they have a
separate heat filter which does not sit too close to the slide.
Try comparing your Kodaks with a real Pradovit like the 2002 or 2000 or
2500, and I am sure you will see the difference.
Also you can compare the Tamron with the Vario-Elmaron by using them on
the same projector (e.g. yours) since the Telex and Kodak use the same
mount. Also, you should realize the one f stop difference between 2.8 and
3.5 can account for the dimmer Leitz, but you should look at color
rendition and sharpness as well.
Hope to have disspelled some of your confusions.
