George,

Sounds like your ISO resistor plate/rush assembly is dirty. It's not a hard job to do 
yourself, you'll just need some plastic safe electronics cleaner and a mini spanner. 

Less commonly, though still possible, the board hairline fractures. If that's the case, 
you'll need a new circuit board assembly.
