Hello George,

My CLE acted the same way. After a while I discovered  
the most inner metal circle in the release button had to be 
cleaned with some very fine sandpaper. I guess it just didn't made 
enough contact anymore between the metal and my finger. 
After cleaning the trouble has stopped.
At least it's worth a try before sending it out for repair.
