Subject: Leica and blue

As some of you know, I've had my first Leica, an M3 with 50/2 DR
Summicron, for about three weeks now. I've gotten back several rolls of film,
all of them Kodacolor VR 400.

Blues, esp. the sky, seem to be *much* more saturated than I'm used to and
more than I remember with this film. (I never used to like it much, but the
camera shop down the street from the office sells packs of three 24 exp.
rolls for less than I can buy one roll of Royal Gold, and I don't like RG
three times better than VR.) However, the pictures don't have a blue cast
overall, and, in fact, I'd describe the colors as being well balanced and,
again, more saturated and with finer gradations than I remember VR being in
the past.

Am I experiencing some kind of "Leica thing"? Did I get an extra good
batch of Kodacolor VR? Is my opthalmology appointment overdue?

   Thanks.
