Subject: Ricoh lens

I've just acquired, through a bit of private international 'horse trading'
on the 'net', a (brand new and unavailable in England...) Ricoh GR lens
(28mm F2.8) for my Leica. This is screw mount presumably to avoid
infringement but of the latest design having 2 aspheric surfaces, more than
recent Leica designs!

Has anyone in this group (which I joined only over the weekend) had any
first hand experience of this lens, which seems very sturdily built and is
(I believe) taken from the GR camera?
At first glance the external/optional (I have an M6) view-finder seems not
as bright as a Leitz/Leica type and certainly the 'bright-lines' in it are
nowhere near as bright.
It focuses down to 0.7m, stops down to F16 at which point the 10 iris blades
form a perfect circle (not important to me, but I've been reading about
'bokeh'...is that a Kenyan Olympic athlete?) and seems very well made, there
are front and back caps, all made of (heavy ) metal and I hope to have some
results before too long...
