Uli,

With a 50 or a 90mm the Leica M will give a very good account of itself.
However, you won't be able to preview shallow DOF effects and other dramatic
elements visually. Yet, with a little practice the previsualization of those
assets via the DOF scale on the M lenses will come to you automatically. The
superior quality of the image will be there in any case.
