A Leica Lurker emerges from the shadows...

T. Howard Pollack
Age 51, single, aerospace engineer.
Life-long fascination with photgraphy, astronomy, optics, light and art.
Equipment: 100% Olympus OM (light-weight, compact, reliable, relatively
quiet, wide choice of lenses and systems).

Wandering through a recent Buena Park show, I happened to pick up a Leica
M. I operated the
controls...focus...shutter...advance...focus...shutter...advance.
Unbelieveable! Focus...shutter...advance...so buttery smooth, so
sensuous! I couldn't stop.

I then looked up to see the camera's owner, who was glaring at me as if I
was running my hands over his girlfriend. Returning her...er...IT...to
the table, I walked away in a daze.

My desire to learn all I can about these marvelous cameras before going
further (i.e. writing checks) brought me here---where I have found not
only a bountiful source of information, but a refreshing and civilized
little oasis in the World Wide Wasteland.

Receding quietly away, like my black cat into the evening shadows (and my
hairline) I will now resume lurking, only to emerge, from time to time,
to ask the occasional bonehead question...
