Subject: That silly Kodachrome and the R8

Pete,
A little hot on Kodachrome would normally indicate about a half stop. Run a
test roll. Shoot three shots of everything. One at 64, one at 80 and one 100.
Cover the kind of subjects you normally shoot. You'll then know how
*your* camera works on *your* subjects and processed at *your* lab, with K64.
No one else can do this for you.

True True
As I believe is said in german, and loosly translated -"self understanding".

My post was to rather extract from the wide base of experience of the 500 LUG
users, what R8 users have been rating their Kodachrome 64 at. I am looking
for conversation and insight. Certain films tend to get shot at different
speeds in common experience. For example, Velvia is offen rated at 40. Astia
is often rated at 80. Kodachrome seems to be pretty true to speed, but the R8
matrix seems to have a little bias towards the positive. As much as talking
about Kodachrome, I have been seeking a conversation on the matrix metering
bias and a general guess as to what bias there is with it. Personally, I am
guessing a third to a half a stop.

Yes, the only way to really set a speed for a camera and a lab is to test.
But, in general, I find that this day in age, there is some common ground for
all - even from lab to lab.
