If you take the glass out of an E39 filter and screw it on the new 50
Summicron you can put the swing out polarizer on that. Funky, but it beats
owning two 50mm Summicrons.

For my taste the Swing out polarizer is one of the best reasons to keep my
90mm T-E. I carry a 28 Rokkor, 35 and 50 Summicrons and a 90mm T-E. The
polarizer's hood has to be taken off for the 28mm, and it's a tricky fit,
but the polarizer can be used on all four lenses.
