I have the APO 2x and APO 1.4x and use them all the time. The 1.4x makes my
180 f/2.8 a 250 f/4. I am very happy with the quality of the Leica
extenders. One combination that is dynamite is the 2x on my 350 for a 700mm
Leica lens. And it is tack sharp. Two lenses, that, for me, are two that I
would never ever think of selling, are my 15mm Super Elmar, and my 350mm
Telyt-R. You never hear too much about these lenses, but they are not only
absolutely outstanding, the images they produce are stunning. I cannot
figure out why the 350 did not sell well. I had my original 350 stolen and
was very very upset. Fortunately my insurance replaced it. If anybody out
there is interested in long lenses, find a 350 and try it. Then try it with
a 2x extender. I had a 280/2.8 APO for a few years but sold it as I like
the 350 better. I kept the 1.4x extender from the 280 as it works on the
180 f/2.8 .
