Don't frown. Leica knows how popular that feature is. And the only reason
it won't work well with the 180 f/2 Apo Summicron is the converter is
designed for 2.8 lenses (so says Leica's press release for the 180 Apo
Summicron says). And by not work well, I mean you have to stop it down a
stop to avoid unevenness of light.

 All the long lenses since the 280 Apo Telyt which it was designed
specifically for have worked with the 1.4 Apo converter.  And the only
reason it doesn't work with the current Apo Telyt 3.4 is it's rear element
is so far back.
